Dalgarno Park, Hillside, by Montrose

An award winning village environment

Working in close consultation with Angus Council planners, Muirfield recreated a traditional village environment in its development at Hillside Hospital, by Montrose.

The 16 villas are all set in their own grounds and are grouped around a village square.

Individual design based on four different house types means each property has its own character. All have vernacular features such as dormer windows and the extensive use of stone helps these brand new houses to fit into the architectural traditions of Angus.

The Montrose Society awarded Howden Villas an Excellence in Civic Design Award, in recognition that Muirfield worked particularly hard to ensure the development was sensitively and appropriately designed.
